Nick Triani

Nick Triani was born in London, where he lived till his permanent move to Helsinki, Finland in 1998. Since 1980 he has been writing songs, playing in bands, releasing records and producing other peoples records, playing other peoples records and generally devoting his life to music. He has been signed to a variety of record labels as a recording artist since the early 80’s, including BMG, Fire Records of London and Columbia Records USA. Since living in Finland he has formed a new band Treeball, who release records on cool Helsinki based label Stupido Records. He has also in the last 5 years produced many Finnish records for a variety of acts such as Giant Robot, Apulanta, Manboy, Mummypowder, The Duplo and The Rollstons to mention just a few.

The content of Triani’s show is based on his own musical tastes, which tend to be on the alternative or independant side, covering anything from indie guitar rock, to singer songwriters with edge to electronica and beyond.

Triani has also tried to feature much up coming talent from Finland on his show, by playing unsigned bands or featuring new /unsigned bands on his show. Amongst those who have appeared live in the studio are Sister Flo, Ultrasport, Barcelona Pavilion, Teitur, Markus Nordenstreng and Red Carpet amongst may others.

Nick loves The Beatles, Domino Records, Motown, Pavement, Laura Nyro, Alfred Hitchcock Movies, Hal Hartley Movies, James Ellroy books, Music Magazines, The Sopranos, New York, high heels and anything that moves him to tears. Nick hates anything pretentious and a lack of truth.
